How the vote works
1Pick your top six speakers from the nominees below, in order of preference.
2Points are awarded by rank — your #1 gets 6 points, #2 gets 5, and so on down to #6.
3Change your ranking any time before the deadline — your last saved ballot counts.
How many speakers we invite — 6, 7, or 8
The top six by points are invited for certain. The 7th and 8th are kept in reserve — whether we invite them depends on whether the MSRC fund is needed to invite extra faculty-recruitment candidates:
Invite 6If we need to spend extra MSRC money on recruitment candidates — beyond the allotment we already receive for recruitment — we invite only the top 6 speakers.
Invite 7–8If our recruitment allotment covers those candidates (no extra MSRC money needed), we also invite the 7th, and possibly the 8th, from the reserve.
